What are nouns?

If you were wondering what are nouns, the standard definition of a noun is that it names a person, place, thing, or idea. A noun can refer to anything that is living or non-living, animate or inanimate. It can also name a place or an abstract idea or concept. A common noun is a more generalized version of a noun, which names a specific living or place, thing or idea. Proper nouns are those nouns that relate to people, titles, places, days of the week and more.

Nouns are important to sentence structure because they are the subject of the sentences. Obsiously, the sentence can't be complete if it doesn't include a noun. There are some general classifications of common nouns:
